A charity based in Millom have asked for the support of local businesses to keep one of its groups running.
The Millom Network Centre organises an up-cycling club for lonely residents in the area, but their stock is running low.
They are asking for DIY businesses in the area to donate paintbrushes, brush cleaner, wood paints, sandpaper and wood glues.
The centre said: "This group is so vital for helping the mental health of our residents, who also pass on vital skills to younger participants whilst targeting social exclusion of our older people whilst instilling a sense of purpose.
"The result is that items of pre-loved, solid wood furniture is up-cycled, or re-purposed and then sold in our charity shop thus keeping items out of landfill whilst raising funds."
You can find the centre at Unit Three at Devonshire Industrial Estate or you can get in touch by emailing enquiries@m-n-c.co.uk.
