IMAGES have captured the scale of the 'mega unit' section of a nuclear submarine that was transported through Barrow.
The behemoth section of the first Dreadnought submarine moved through Barrow from BAE's fabrication facility and onto Devonshire Dock Hall.
Pictures taken on its journey show it dwarfing homes on Ferry Road.
At more than 20 metres, it was the longest submarine unit to move by road since the fore-end mega-unit moved to the DDH for the final Vanguard boat in the mid-1990s.
