Future employment in the engineering sector based around the construction of submarines is set to be discussed in Barrow.
The talk, labelled as 'Building Our Future Engineering Capability', will take place at the Studio in The Forum on September 21 at 7pm.
BAE's engineering director Jon Shaw and head of engineering for strategic people capability Melissa Thompson-Craig will host the Barrow and District Association of Engineers lecture.
They will be discussing how their efforts are taking shape in training young and upcoming engineers for the future landscape.
Members of the public are invited to listen to what is in store for the development of the shipyard, as well as the potential increase in employment across Barrow which will support the SSNR and AUKUS programmes.
Both of these programmes revolve around the implementation of a new class of submarines for the UK and Australian navies.
The talk is free and available to all. Information is available on the website: www.bdae.org.uk
