A horse riding school is partnering with a local park to let more people enjoy some horsing around.
Bigland Hall has joined forces with Ford Park at Ulverston to offer introductory pony rides on March 19.
Each slot is 20 minutes long and will include some fun learning and a ride in the park.
The event will mostly be using fell ponies because they were bred to survive the unforgiving mountainous environment of Cumbria and have proven excellent driving and riding ponies, said Bigland Hall bosses.
The group is passionate about the joys of horse riding and want to raise awareness of the benefits it can offer.
Bigland Hall offers riding lessons and experiences where the focus is put on learning how horses, and being in their company, can affect wellness, both mentally and physically while learning a new skill.
Emma Owens, from Bigland Hall, said: “As a community interest company we aim to work in partnership with local businesses supporting each other in the community. Ford Park is an excellent location for us to reach out to our local community to share what we do and how it can be beneficial mentally and physically.
“Not only do we want to promote the beneficial effects on our health but also the life skills and careers that working with horses can offer.
“The Ford Park Pony ride day has already proven to be a great success, selling out within 24 hours. We are looking forward to working with other community locations in the future to bring the ponies to the people.”
