THE glorious Cumbrian summer is set to continue, as cinema-goers are transported to California’s Venice Beach.

Vue Barrow and Carlisle will be screening footage captured from the world famous resort in 4K definition with 5.1 surround sound to celebrate the release of the new Baywatch movie on Monday.

Movie lovers can sit back, relax and enjoy a healthy dose of virtual sunlight thanks to the ‘beach immersion’ sessions, which will capture golden sands and waves lapping against the shore.

Baywatch, a reboot of the classic show that starred David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, will hit cinemas across the UK on Monday, with Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra, Alexandra Daddario, and Kelly Rohrbach taking the starring roles.

Devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchanan clashes with a brash new recruit, but together they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.

Parts of Venice Beach featured in the original TV series, which ran from 1989 to 1999, and at the Vue immersion sessions, the footage will capture the golden sands and waves lapping at the shore.

The sessions take place before each screening on Monday May 29.
