ONE of the biggest bands of the 60s will be celebrated in an acclaimed live show heading for Cumbria this month.

The Doors Alive is a leading tribute band and live show, widely regarded as the closest and most enthralling representation of the legendary rock gods The Doors today.

They arrive at the Brewery Arts Centre, in Kendal, on Saturday June 17, with their huge stage show, which recreates the sound, look, presence and magic of a real 1960s Doors concert, transporting the audience back in time with classic hits such as Light My Fire, When The Music’s Over, Riders On The Storm, The End, and many more.

The band formed in 2005, with a frequently-changing line-up, but the current four-piece is said to be the most authentic yet.

The Doors Alive have over 1,000 shows under their belt to date, appearing in 15 countries, and playing as far afield as Lebanon and Chile.

Their frontman, Mike, captures the look, attitude, and rich baritone voice of the late, great Jim Morrison with ease while his compadres showcase the musical chops of original Doors members Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore with finesse and authenticity.

They repeatedly sell out some of the most well established venues in the UK, including the 02 Academies, and have played at the legendary Isle of Wight Festival and shared the stage with such luminaries as Status Quo, Nazareth, Uriah Heep, Hayseed Dixie, and Eric Burdon, to name but a few.

To achieve their authentic 60s sound, the band use the very same instruments that members of the Doors originally used, including vintage keyboards such as the Gibson G101 and the Fender Rhodes Bass, as well as the vintage Gibson SG. guitar and Ludwig Superclassic drumset in Mod Orange finish.

The show in Kendal on Saturday June 17 starts at 7.30pm, and tickets are available from the venue's box office.
