AUSTRALIAN pop star Grace will be heading to Cumbria for an intimate gig this autumn.

As part of the Get It Loud In Libraries programme, the BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2 playlisted singer-songwriter will play Kendal Library on Tuesday October 4.

Grace Sewell, known simply as Grace, is best known for You Don't Own Me - a cover version of the 1963 Lesley Gore song - produced by Quincy Jones and featuring G-Eazy. The song, a single from her debut album, was a Spotify top 10 most viral track and a number one hit in Australia.

The song was also used in Christmas advertisements for House of Fraser in the UK, and the trailer for the recent action film Suicide Squad.

Grace's debut album, FMA, was released in July, and the teenage singer was praised for the maturity of her vocals, with comparisons drawn to the style of Amy Winehouse.

In its 10th year, Loud In Libraries has already staged sell out shows in Kendal with Rae Morris and Gruff Rhys, and shortly after Grace's visit, it welcomes former Race Horses frontman Meilyr Jones .

The programme will also be responsible for bringing US indie rock band We Are Scientists to Barrow Library in November.

The shows stage the best in new music whilst allowing young people opportunities to learn music industry skills.

Tickets for the Grace show, which is all ages, are on sale now from www.seetickets.com and www.getitloudinlibraries.com
