TWO rising stars of British comedy bring their joint-headline tour to Cumbria this spring.

Tom Allen and Suzi Ruffell teamed up for their Edinburgh Festival show, Hit the Road, last summer and are back out on tour together once again.

The hosts of hit podcast Like Minded Friends, they come together once more as they embark on their first UK tour together.

They appear at The Beggar's Theatre, in Millom, on Friday March 31, both bringing their latest full-length sets.

Establishing himself as a TV personality with appearances on shows such as Live At The Apollo, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, Allen is tipped to make a big impression in 2017.

A winner of both the So You Think You’re Funny in Edinburgh and the BBC New Comedy Awards in his first year on the circuit, he has gone on to tour internationally, playing major events such as Montreal’s Just For Laughs as well as Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne Comedy Festivals, and has supported Reggie Watts and Eugene Mirman in the US.

He was also main support on Sarah Millican's sold out tour of Australia, New Zealand and the UK last year.

Suzi Ruffell has joined Alan Carr, and British prospects Josh Widdicombe and Kevin Bridges for UK dates, as well as performing her third show, Common, at venues across the country.

Previously nominated for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, her debut Edinburgh show in 2012 saw her receive rave reviews and star in BBC Three’s Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live.

Since then she has gone on to star in Live at the Comedy Store, as well as numerous appearances on BBC Radio 4.

Outside the realms of stand-up Ruffell is a talented actor and writer, and she has also written additional material for TV shows such as The Last Leg, Mock The Week and 8 Out Of 10 Cats.

Tickets for the Hit The Road tour are available from The Beggar's Theatre box office.
