KESWICK Mountain Festival returns for three days in June, welcoming high-profile names from the world of extreme sports and adventure.

Alongside the list of inspirational speakers, however, the 2018 event also has an equally-impressive array of live music performers.

Taking to the main stage at Crow Park on Friday June 8 and Saturday 9, internationally-renowned stars of British music and local favourites will keep the celebrations going well into the evening.

Headlining the Friday night of the three-day festival will be Peter Hook & The Light.

Led by the legendary bassist, the group has built an enviable reputation on the live circuit over the last eight years. Their set will showcase seminal tracks from the back catalogue of Joy Division and New Order, two of the UK’s best-loved bands.

Friday's entertainment gets under way at 6.15pm with an appearance from classically-trained multi-instrumentalist Hugo Valentine, before the Jonny Oates Band takes to the stage an hour later, showcasing their Bruce Springsteen and Dave Matthews-influenced rock.

Traditional Scottish music stars - and Keswick Mountain Festival regulars - the Peatbog Faeries take up their place performing high octane Celtic music from 8.15pm, ahead of Peter Hook & The Light's closing set at 9.30pm.

Saturday's live music programme gets under way at 6.15pm with a solo performance by well-established Lake District folk musician Mike Turnbull, and Britpop revivalists Blurb play classic tracks from the 90s movement in their set, starting at 7.15pm.

Re-formed Merseyside band The Farm, best known for their early 90s number one album Spartacus, take to the stage at 8.15pm, before another much-loved Liverpudlian, Melanie C wraps up the entertainment at 9.30pm.

The Spice Girls superstar, with her brand-new band in tow, perform the songs that have made up her extensive solo collection, which started with her featuring on the hit single When You’re Gone with Bryan Adams, and has gone on to include seven studio albums to date.

Keswick Mountain Festival takes place at Crow Park from Friday June 8 to Sunday 10. Tickets for the concerts, as well as full weekend passes, are available via keswick.seetickets.com
