THE latest line-up of comedy circuit stars is set to hit the stage at Bowness' Laundrama on Friday July 7.

North-East stand-up Steffen Peddie tops the bill. A former professional wrestler-turned-comedian, he regularly performs in his hometown of Newcastle, but also makes appearances at comedy festivals across the UK.

He has also supported American wrestler Mick Foley on his UK stand-up tour in 2011, and appeared in 2012 BBC2 sitcom Hebburn.

Another with a sporting history, Tony Simpson is also on the bill. A part-time rally driver, he has also been a motorsport presenter on TV and radio, juggling both roles with his comedy career.

A topical writer, he enjoys sharing his, sometimes surreal, views on life and news stories. A happy, positive and cheeky chap, his unique approach to a subject will have you cringing and laughing along with him.

Up-and-coming performer Julian Lee will be reeling off his best one-liners for the Lake District crowd.

A formidable talent, his thick-set build belies a childish sense of humour, which saw him finish runner-up in the UK Pun Championship 2017.

Cumbria's John Lebbon once again takes up his regular role, compering for the night.

The show starts at 7.30pm, and tickets are available from the Old Laundry Theatre box office.
