POIGNANT physical comedy comes to the Coronation Hall stage when Tmesis Theatre brings its new production to Ulverston next month.

Happy Hour sees the Liverpool-based company showcasing their trademark mix of physicality, humour, music, and text to create a fast-paced comedy exploring our 21st Century obsession with happiness and success.

The workers on Level Three are racing against the clock to reach their quota of smiley faces, but are they really happy enough?

Can we learn to be happy? And can our emotions be bought and sold? Happy Hour is a funny, highly-engaging with a mix of characters everyone can relate to, performed by highly-skilled performers and featuring a great selection of music as well as some original scores from composer Meike Holzmann.

Over the past 10 years, Tmesis Theatre has developed a national and international reputation, receiving critical acclaim for their unique style of movement-based theatre as a company who create work that is accessible, engaging, entertaining and of the highest quality.

Elinor Randle, artistic director at Tmesis, says: "I'm really excited about this new piece, the characters are hilarious and we are exploring some really interesting ideas about the darker side of the "Happiness Industry" in a really playful and energetic way.

"It's exciting to move towards more narrative and comedy, whilst still maintaining Tmesis' trademark physicality."

Happy Hour comes to the Coronation Hall, in Ulverston, on Wednesday November 30, from 7.30pm, and tickets are available from the venue's box office.
