ULVERSTON Outsiders take on Shakespeare for the first time in more than two decades when they return to the Coronation Hall, in Ulverston, this April.
The spring show sees the well-established amateur society take on Twelfth Night, with five shows from Tuesday April 19 to Saturday 23.
The final show is significant in that it falls on the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.
The show's director, Pat Timewell, says: "It has been 22 years since our last Shakespeare offering, so it is high time we returned to the Bard.
"Twelfth Night has love requited and unrequited, humour and wit, drunken shenanigans and laugh out loud scenes - a mix that produces a sparkling play.
"We have an excellent cast, a mixture of regulars whom you will recognize and some fresh faces, and we look forward to giving you an excellent evening’s entertainment."
The cast for Twelfth Night sees Emma Bonney take the role of Viola, with Jenny Schofield as Maria, Claire Boulter as Olivia, Trevor Hughes as Malvolio, Ian Honeyman as Sir Toby Belch, Adam Atkinson as Sir Andrew Aguecheek, Paul Jordin as Orsino, Duncan Lindsay as Feste, Matt Berry as Antonio, James Ellis as Sebastian, and Phil Cooper as the captain and first officer. The role of Fabian has become the female Fabia, with Kirsty Goodall playing the part.
The show will run at 7.30pm each night, and tickets are available from the venue's box office.
