COMEDY comes to Grange, with a showcase of highly-regarded stand-ups at the Netherwood Hotel this summer.

Three respected performers will be appearing on Friday July 7, with Cumbrian favourite Mike Wilkinson hosting and leading the line-up.

A professional comic for more than 10 years, he has supported Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas, Ross Noble and many others, and headlines comedy clubs across the country.

The part-time chicken farmer, who has also taken his stand-up show to the Edinburgh Festival, takes a bemused glance at the world and then throws it a smile. The laughs come thick and fast with Wilkinson’s dry humour and razor sharp wit.

Actor, comedian, juggler and BBC Radio Lancashire presenter Steve Royle is also on the bill.

He is a regular headline act at The Comedy Store and other alternative venues, and also appeared in Channel 4’s Max & Paddy’s Road To Nowhere.

Royle is a co-founder of the Slaughterhouse-Live comedy night, which was nominated in the best touring show category at the Manchester Comedy Awards, losing out to Peter Kay.

Fellow North West performer Dave Twentyman completes the line-up.

A regular performer at many of the best weekend clubs in the country, he has also performed at a number of music festivals over the years such as Leeds, V Festival and Download, and is among a host of accomplished performers that appear regular on the Manford's Comedy Club touring shows.

Tickets for the show are available from the Netherwood Hotel priced £12, and can be booked by phoning 015395 32552. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Net Patient Foundation that raises money to combat neuroendocrine cancer.
