THE UK’s premier Thin Lizzy tribute act are heading to Cumbria this week.

Limehouse Lizzy keep the spirit of Ireland’s greatest rock outfit alive, by paying homage to the late Phil Lynott and his band at Bootleggers, in Kendal, on Thursday July 28.

The explosive performance, with astounding attention to detail, offers a career retrospective of the original Thin Lizzy and features every hit, including Jailbreak, Whiskey In the Jar, and The Boys are Back in Town.

Following the tribute act’s appearance on an episode of BBC2’s Arena documentary series, the band travelled as far as Greece for a headline slot at the Rhodes Rock festival, and the Virgin Atlantic Music festival in Barbados.

Limehouse Lizzy has been going now for around 23 years - Lynott was only in Thin Lizzy for 14.

Fronted by vocalist-bassist Wayne Ellis, the long-running project was named Live Band Of The Year by Guitarist Magazine in 2001.

In 2012 the band's European tour continues to explore and celebrate the artistic and musical legacy of the hard-living, hard-rocking, yet at times surprisingly tender and romantic artist that was Philip Lynott.

They have continued to tour all over Europe, taking in Ireland, Germany, France, Holland, Spain, and Belgium in recent years.

Doors on Thursday open at 7.30pm, and tickets are available in advance from the venue, or on the door.
