CHART-TOPPING boy band 5ive will be headlining in Barrow this weekend.

The returning stars appear at The Forum on Saturday night as part of The Ultimate 90s night, and will be playing some of their greatest hits, including Everybody Get Up , When the Lights Go Out , Got the Feelin' , and a cover of Queen's We Will Rock You .

Having enjoyed a string of successful singles between 1997 and 2001, they recently made a comeback with founding members Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville, and Scott Robinson all still involved.

They have already appeared in Whitehaven this year, and will also be returning to Workington later in the summer to headline TownFest.

This Barrow show comes with a number of support acts, including a return for Barrow band Mystical Experience, and local vocalist Beth Horan.

Conlon said: "To be honest, we haven't spent much time up in Cumbria. But this year we seem to have so many northern tour dates and a lot of festivals to do so it will be great to get up there.

"We also have a lot of one off shows on the schedule and some tours in Australia too."

After the group split up in 2001 to pursue their own projects, they re-united in 2006 without Sean Conlon. The reunion with the four members didn't last long and the band announced they would disband later in the year. In 2012 The Big Reunion ITV show persuaded Conlon to reunite with the band but he admits it was difficult to get back involved with 5ive after an 11-year break.

He said: "It was so weird having so much time off from being in a band. I had time to focus on other things and to do my own work. But then when you get back on stage and see all those fans still loyal and supportive after all this time is amazing."

Doors for Saturday's show open at 7.30pm, and is an over-18s show. Tickets are available from The Forum box office.
