A POPULAR charity event returns this autumn after a successful launch earlier this year.

Helping The Homeless will be back at The Nines, in Barrow, on Friday September 23 with another strong line-up of local live music.

Young punk band Fight For Friday, who have just released their second EP, and leading covers outfit The Sun Kings will return, with self-styled "outlaw" rockers The Toledo Mud Hens also appearing.

Highly-rated indie rock band The Chadelics will be bringing a stripped-back acoustic performance, and solo artist Luke Day will also be playing an unplugged set.

The Sun Kings DJs the Media Monkeys will be providing the soundtrack in between sets.

This time around the proceeds will be split between the Furness Homeless Support Group, and Furness General Hospital's special care baby unit, in a tribute to well-known local musician Dean Zaccarini, and with permission from his family.

Tickets this time around are priced £12, and although there won't be a raffle or auction, there will be the opportunity on the night to win a £1000 holiday voucher, thanks to Travel The Globe.

Simon McCarthy, one of the event's organisers, added: "None of this would of course be possible without the help of the bands, and the kind sponsorship of The Nines, Hotwire Graphics and Travel the Globe."

Tickets are available now from the organisers, and can be booked by contacting the HTH#2 Facebook event page .
