OUTDOOR all-dayer Globestonbury is set to return to Ulverston this summer.
The event launched last year in the beer garden of The Globe Inn, in Queen Street, and is back with a bigger line-up on Saturday June 3.
Seven top local names are already confirmed to appear, with more acts to be announced in the coming months.
Highly-rated indie rockers The Chadelics are the stand-out name, leading the line-up. The young band, whose members hail from West Cumbria and Barrow, plan to release more new music this spring, and this local show should form part of a busy schedule of festival dates this summer.
Hometown favourites The Twitchers appeared last time around, and return with another set of self-penned indie music. It will prove to be a rare chance to catch them playing a local show, with members at university, a lot of their live appearances fall outside Cumbria.
Other bands set to appear are Barrow psychedelic rockers Serene, who are building up to their first album release, and there will likely be more new material in their set ahead of this show. More hot indie prospects, The Sides, are on the bill, playing from their debut EP, which was launched earlier this year, and three-piece indie pop act Paloma Café, who have had airtime on BBC 6Music recently.
Acoustic acts that are also confirmed so far are former Atlas pair The Coulton Brothers, up-and-coming duo Lilac Day, and talented solo artist David Kay.
Tickets for the event are on sale from Saturday April 1 via skiddle.com
