MERSEYSIDE indie band Brothers of Mine will be making their debut appearance in Barrow this weekend.

The five-piece outfit, who have recently released their debut single, headline at The Derby, in Dalton Road, on Saturday night.

Echoing bands such as Kings of Leon and Mumford & Sons, the promising outfit have been making a big impression with a string of gigs in and around the North West since forming at the tail end of last year.

In May they released The Answer, their first original track - one of a series of songs they've been working on in the studio since their formation - and it will feature in their live set this weekend.

Their upbeat rock 'n' roll style displays folky influences and catchy hooks, that has already seen them tipped for a big future.

They are joined on tour by their fellow Liverpool-based musician Cal Ruddy. The hotly-tipped 22-year-old, who has one EP to his name, was recently approached to be the ambassador for Liverpool for the San Diego Beatles Fair, and is currently crowdfunding to make his dream happen.

Saturday's show starts at 9pm, and entrance is free.
