DANCE epic Ten will be arriving in Cumbria next month, exploring the issues of heritage and identity.

Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre welcomes the acclaimed production, the latest touring effort from Birmingham-based ACE Dance and Music, on Friday February 3.

At a time when more and more people across the world find themselves having to leave their own lands, ideas of home and belonging are unknown.

Inspired by global migration, Ten is centred around the relationship between two brothers. Full of intense physical power and very human fragility, it explores the concepts of moving away, looking at how and why people choose unimagined destinies over the lives they’d always thought they’d live.

Combining contemporary dance with an essence of Flamenco, Kathak and ACE's inimitable Afro-fusion style, Ten is a visceral and exhilarating dance production.

Following on from the sell-out success of the 2015 tour of Mana, this latest full-length performance has been successfully touring across the UK.

A carefully chosen Creative team each bring with them diverse world cultures and experience to the making of this piece.

The collaboration with choreographer Jose Agudo will deliver hints of Flamenco movement to the contemporary vocabulary underpinned by African-style dance. Music composition by Giuliano Modarelli will layer a haunting guitar melody onto these stories combined with a powerful and dynamic soundscape created in collaboration with Beautiful Noise.

The show starts at 8pm, and tickets are available from the venue's box office.
