AN impressive line-up of stand-up has added a new dimension to this year's Another Fine Fest.

With Canadian surrealist Tony Law getting the Ulverston event under way on Friday June 16 in the festival's only ticketed event, and eight of the most promising comics previewing their Edinburgh Fringe shows over the weekend, it has the feeling of being two festivals in one.

The Laurel & Hardy Museum will be taken over for the full weekend, with the circuit's finest performing for free - organisers are asking for donations on a "pay as you feel" basis.

The busy Saturday bill gets under way at noon with former Liverpool Comedian of the Year, Adam Rowe, first up. He has established himself as one of the most exciting young acts in the country, and the Ulverston crowd can get an early taste of his big summer show, which could launch him into the national consciousness.

Multi-award winning comedian, actress, writer, performer, presenter and ex-BBC broadcast journalist Juliette Burton brings her new show, The Butterfly Effect. Returning from a successful run at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, she arrives in Ulverston as one of the UK's most promising female prospects.

English Comedian of the Year 2016 Josh Pugh has taken his debut show to the Perth and Adelaide Fringes too, ahead of a full run at the Edinburgh Fringe, and he's in Cumbria with A Boy Named Pugh. Another award-winner, Freddy Quinne, arrives off the back of sold-out dates at England's biggest comedy festivals, having already established himself at the biggest venues in the country.

A firm favourite with the Friday Night Live crowd, Tony Burgess is back in Ulverston with his new show, Chrimbo, to round out the Saturday programme.

Another Fine Fest carries over into the Sunday for the first time ever, and that means there are three more chances to catch top class comedy sets.

Again running from noon, it's down to newcomer Tom Toal to get the day under way. Fresh from supporting Rob Brydon on tour, he heads to the museum with a show about following your dreams and the cost of them, and one terrifying phone call back in February.

One of Montreal's finest, Chris Betts, has been warmly received at Leicester, Glasgow and Bath Comedy Festivals, and he returns to Ulverston having previously starred at the Planet Mirth show.

Fellow North American Russell Hicks completes the line-up. A former star of the nationally-acclaimed student circuit on the other side of the Atlantic, but has been establishing himself in the UK in recent years.

There are 50 advance tickets available for each show, and reservations can be made by emailing anotherfinefest@gmail.com with your contact details and the name of the act you wish to see.
