THERE will be a series of opportunities to try cutting-edge virtual reality technology as Vorteka goes on the road this half-term.

The Furness-based company will be bringing its pop-up arcade to Barrow, Askam and Dalton, with experiences and games suitable for ages seven and upwards.

The first sessions take place at the newly-renamed Cloud Nine, in Dalkeith Street, Barrow, on Tuesday October 24 and Wednesday 25, from noon. These will be followed by events at Askam Community Hall on Thursday 26, from 3pm to 6pm, and Dalton Leisure Centre on Sunday 29, from noon to 6pm.

Players can try out the state-of-the-art equipment and compete against friends, with experiences ranging from a trip to the moon in Apollo 11, all-new driving simulator Project Cars 2, and classic games such as Superhot VR and Rick 'n' Morty.

Vorteka established its name with a shop in Ulverston - the first VR shop in the country - and now exclusively a touring company, there will be chances to try the latest games at venues and major events across the region.

The sessions can be paid for on the day at each event, and players of all ages and abilities are welcome.
