WELL-TRAVELLED folk performer Keith Donnelly will headline at Ulverston Sports Club next week.

The all-round entertainer, who also works as a children's entertainer, performs his solo show for the South Lakes Music Partnership at the Priory Road venue on Friday April 7.

A festival favourite, he has also played shows across the world, touring extensively in Australia.

Over the years he has been a regular visitor to Cumbria, performing at events such as Brampton Live and Music on the Marr, and performing across the county, both as a solo artist or collaboratively with other artists. He is currently one half of Dark Horses alongside French musician Flossie Malavialle, while other acts he has been a part of include Gilly Darbey's band, Little Airplane and Nothing By Chance.

In the past 10 years, he has played at literally hundreds of festivals, colleges and universities, arts centres and theatres, comedy clubs, in the UK and worldwide.

Keith is a regular booking to compere events, and on top of his music career he is a well-known storyteller and has been known to perform stand-up comedy too.

He has written substantial live routines and TV material for the likes of Phil Cool and Jasper Carrott, as well as having written for TV companies such as Celador and Ragdoll.

Another strand of his work includes being a children's entertainer, and ahead of his Ulverston show he will be calling into Croftlands School to perform for the pupils with the aim of inspiring them to pick up musical instruments.

Doors for the evening concert show open at 7.45pm, and tickets are available on the night, or can be booked in advance by phoning 07749 827488.
