A FREE all-day party will take place in Ulverston over the August bank holiday weekend featuring a packed line-up of live acts and DJs.

Following their successful debut in the town earlier this summer hosting a stage at Another Fine Fest, Twang are back with another outdoor event.

The Furness promoters, DJs and radio hosts will be joined by a long list of guests on Saturday 26 out in the beer garden of The Sun Inn, with six acts already confirmed to appear.

Having starred on the Twang stage last time out, The Chadelics are back for another set of indie rock originals. The trio have since played a high-profile gig at Maida Vale in Sheffield as part of the Tramlines festival, and have recently been announced to support Scottish rock icons Big Country later in the year.

Another Twang favourite and a previous guest on the CandoFM radio show is Mark Pratt, who will be running through his self-penned acoustic blues tracks. The Barrow singer-songwriter launched his self-titled debut album earlier this year, and material from the record will feature at the Ulverston gig.

Paper Cranes are also set to appear. Arguably Furness' best-known band, the acoustic indie duo have played shows all over the country - as well as dates abroad - and supported chart-topping acts such as Ocean Colour Scene and Nizlopi.

Young indie band The Sides will be appearing - though with a scaled-back line-up and an unplugged live set. Following their debut EP release at the start of the year, they've been working on new material with the latest single set to be unveiled imminently.

The party represents a chance for a hometown appearance for Ulverston trio Strangers to Ourselves, who have also been hidden away working on new tracks. The shoegaze indie outfit will be marking the second anniversary of their debut gig at this show.

There will also be a Twang debut for The Messengers, who are the final act confirmed so far.

The Twang DJs will also be keeping the party going late into the night, with more DJs set to be confirmed.

Music is set to get under way around noon and entrance is free.
