Vickerstown spot on to make it a treble

VICKERSTOWN became the first team to win the Paul Wilson Memorial Trophy three times as their reserves won a dramatic penalty shootout against Haverigg United at Rakesmoor.

Have your say

having watched last sat final with a neutral view, these were two evenly matched teams, vickerstown dominated 1st half haverigg the 2nd.three of the goals were defensive mistakes.haveriggs last min equilizer was one of the best goals seen at rakesmoor this year.as for mom wrighty was right vickerstown keeper won them the cup with his pen save just as if a striker would get it by scoring the winning goal.as for gloating and sour grapes both teams stayed well into the night enjoying alans fantastic hospitality.well done both teams

'The truth hurts', how deluded are you?! Accept defeat, put the dummy back in and try again next year. Stop being a keyboard warrior and put a kit on, you never know you might do better!

''half the team went back and gave the medals to the proper reserves'' Just what are you talking about? You got beat by a 2nd string, deal with it.

None of these comments are the views of Haverigg United FC. The club would like again to congratulate Vickerstown on there cup success in what was an extremely entertaining game. A great day was had by all so thanks to the Furness Premier League and all those affiliated to the Paul Wilson Memorial Trophy for a great day out.

Thanks and all the best for the summer.

Apparently half the team went back to the vickerstown clubhouse and handed there medals back over to the 'proper' reserves!
Classless like all barrow sides!

Fairly good match report, haverigg only had 1 shot on target... the man of the match award is just one persons opinion, the other vickerstown players didnt moan, he deserved it because of his outstanding contribution in the other games. The guy doing the award had to have his back to the players or the crowd... cant please everyone i suppose.

HUFC - it was biased towards a Barrow team because they won and you lost! end of! deal with it!
