GUNNING FOR VICTORY: Tom Oldham

SHOOTING

The hot-shot clay pigeon shooter took no prisoners as he won the annual Christmas Shoot at their Angerton Hall Farm base, near Kirkby-in-Furness.

Oldham, who has won a string of events with the club this year, hit 44 targets in the 50-bird sporting shoot to take the crown by three shots from Dave Tyson.

Sam Corkill finished third with 39 in an event which took place in bitterly cold conditions on the South Cumbrian coast.

Club members passed on their thanks to Graham Wilkinson, Terry Curwen and Dan Williams for their hard work in setting up the event despite the weather.

The club now take a break from competition over Christmas and the new year, before returning to the field for more action and regular weekend meets.

Anyone interested in trying clay pigeon shooting with the Duddon Valley Gun Club can contact Horace Parrington on 01229 468330.
