ST BENEDICTS v WINDERMERE

After a heavy defeat on the road last week to South Cumbrian rivals Furness, Windermere will be looking to get back on the straight and narrow as they go west to take on Benedicts’ second string.

Skipper Jamie Hardman will be looking for more from his troops as they aim to put last week’s game behind them.

Joining Hardman in the front three will be Dan Harrison and Luke Todd.

With Jonny Benson and Tadgh Butler in the second row, the pack is in safe hands at the set-piece – it just needs to work on what it does in the loose.

The first line of defence and attack are the back row, and with Connor Mayer, Joe Hallam and John Sheasby at the helm, Winderemere have a great trio who can match and better tomorrow’s opponents.

As with the forwards, the back-line are unchanged, so Dan Nield will be looking for better support from scrum half, with Bertie Hodgson his partner at fly-half.

Centre-field boys James Dootson and Moses Dawson will need clean ball to try to break down Benedicts’ backs.

In wide men Tom Atkinson and Liam Garnett, they have the capability to upset the applecart – especially with Andy Duncan at full-back.

MORESBY V MILLOM

Millom travel with a strong squadto the hotbed of rugby that is Moresby.

The away side have been playing wellof late and will be hopeful they continue their development.

A smattering of youth and experience sees Steve Watson and Dean Doyle lead the front row, with young buck and first-team regular Keiron Coulson stepping up to the mark.

The second row gives youth a chance, as Joe Thomlinson and Callum Loughran look to stamp their authority in the tight eight.

Joe Laydon, Craig Mounsey and Michael Jordan form a dynamic back row which needs to get to the breakdown early to free up good ball.

The scrum half shirt goes to Robbie Pattinson, and with fly-half Jordan Moyes alongside, they look to have the link-up position sorted.

Kyle Barnes and Morgan Tyson are out wide and will be looking to the men inside them, Ryan Carter and David Thompson, who can take teams apart.

Mikey Holmes brings up the rear from full-back, and will need to be on his mettle in defence and show a good pair of heels as he joins the line in attack.
