THERE is derby action at Wilson Park as Millom lock horns with Furness, while both Hawcoat Park teams have home games.

Millom v Furness

(Wilson Park, 3pm)

WILSON Park is the venue for a hotly-anticipated game between the blues of Millom and Furness.

Both sides have had ups and downs in the Cumbria League this season, but this match could be a humdinger.

Millom skipper Ian Cummings leads from the front row, joined by Dean Doyle and Kevin Rogan.

The young pairing of Joe Thomlinson and Kieran Coulson will look after the engine room with a formidable back three of James Wilson, Matty Jordan and Joe Laydon controlling the breakdowns.

Furness captain Rhys Studt will be looking to pull out all the stops to get a strong team out, and this could see Paul Dean up front with Ben Hughes and Leon Sweet. South African dangerman Corne Els and New Zealander and player/coach Dillan Taputu will give it 100 per cent in pursuit of points.

Hawcoat Park v Oldham

(Hawcoat Park, 3pm)

HAWCOAT return to action after a week off hoping their fresh legs will stand them in good stead against Oldham.

The teams have had similar seasons in the North Lancs/Cumbria League.

Maroons skipper Dan White hopes to be fit and will join Ash Mowat to play an important role in the second row. Tim Clark, Callum Ramsey and Will Mallinson will need to control the ruck and maul, to help fly-half George Smith get the backs up and running. Lewis Sayle at full-back will look to control defence and attack, with wingmen Will Coles and Glenn Kaighan always on hand.

Hawcoat Park A v Upper Eden A

(Hawcoat Park, 3pm)

AFTER their superb North West Shield run came to an end at the semi-final stage with a 38-7 defeat at Broughton, Hawcoat A are back on home turf in league action.

Three full-length interception tries were the difference last week, so Hawcoat will look to tighten up both defence and attack.

The front three of Paul Woodburn, Joe Rea and Ryan Brown have been in good form, with Charlie Butterworth, Rory Sayle, Mark Hall and Martin Kennedy all looking to get a starting shirt in the second row.

Scott Garnett improves with every game at scrum half and will be looking for more of the same as he links up with stand-off Will Howard.

Dave Wynne will lead the back line from the centres, with Rodney Odandi and Dan Hayes on the wings. Jonny Mosses will clean things up from full-back.

Whitehaven A v Ambleside

AMBLESIDE are on the road as they travel west to face Whitehaven seconds.

Continuity is the name of the game at Ambleside, as they travel unchanged. Captain Paul Longster leads from the second row and will have Jacob Taylor alongside him.

Up front are the regular three of Mike Blakeston, Mike Gibson and Gregg Stevenson to make up what a strong tight five.

The pack is completed by the dynamic back row, with Pip Houghton, Gregg Machino and Cyrill Lathes.

Scrum half Keenan Longster and fly-half partner Peter Holgate will be hopeful the men in the pack can get them clean ball to help release Matthew Middlemiss and Steven Mathews from the centres, with full-back Lewis Kelly joining the line at will.

Windermere v Carlisle Crusaders

(Dawes Meadow, 3pm)

MERE are at home for the second week running and are back in Cumbria League action as they take on Carlisle Crusaders.

Jamie Hardman will lead the team, and the club captain will be joined by Dan Harrison and Luke Todd in a tight front three.

Jonny Benson and Tadgh Butler make up the second row and will look to control the game.

With Josh Dawson, Paul Mahler and John Hallam in the back row, they have the power to take control of the game and secure good ball.

Sam Lee and Bertie Hodgson are the new half-back pairing, with centre duo Jamie Dootson and John Wheatley looking for quick ball to give them every opportunity of breaking the Carlisle line.

Wing men Tom Atkinson and Moses Dawson are always on hand to get points on the board, along with full-back Lewis Duncan.
