AFTER disposing of Fleetwood and Upper Eden in successive weeks, Hawcoat Park will head to Wigton tomorrow in confident mood.

Windermere travel to St Benedict’s, while the Furness and Millom first teams have a blank weekend, with their second strings in action at Wigton and Ambleside respectively.

WIGTON v HAWCOAT PARK

IN-FORM Hawcoat Park head north to Wigton in good spirits following their 48-0 victory against Upper Eden.

Aside from the absences of George Smith and Elliot McDermott, it will be business as usual for the Maroon and Whites in a North Lancs/Cumbria League clash which looks like being a close encounter.

Jason Priss, Adam Grainger and Ryan Milner make up the front three. The big second-row partnership of Ashley Mowat and skipper Dan White will push the front row on, with the superb back row of Will Mallinson, Johnny Burrows and Mike Lightfoot completing the pack division.

Sam Hilton takes the scrum half role, linking up with James Howden at fly-half and looking to get the back line away.

Winger Will Coles keeps his shirt after some great games this season, with Jack Sutherland and Chris Burns inside him. Blain Marwood takes up the full-back role with his mazy running and great defence.

HAWCOAT PARK A v BURY

(Hawcoat Park, 2.15pm)

HAWCOAT seconds face Bury, with last week’s defeat against Sedgley Park a hard pill to swallow in a game they could have won.

The wings will be strong again, with Rodney Odondi and Dan Armitstead pulling the strings.

Jay Crowe is hoping to make a return, as is Dan Hayes. Team regular and stalwart Ryan Brown will lead from the front, with Dave Wynne never far from the action.

Euan James will operate alongside Jack Shannon, with Jake Vial and Joe Ward always on hand to get the ball over the whitewash.

ST BENEDICT’S v WINDERMERE

JAMIE Hardman leads his troops into battle as Windermere travel to St Benedict’s in the Cumbria League.

Alongside Hardman up front are Leigh Todd and Dan Harrison, in what is a real tough front three.

Johnny Benson and Tadgh Butler continue their partnership in the engine room, with Matt Powell, Joe Hallam and John Sheasby looking to get on any loose ball at the ruck and maul.

Dan Neild’s aggressive play looks to keep the team going forward, with Bertie Hodgson never far from the play.

The centre-field sees Josh Holmes and Tony Sheasby taking control, with wingmen Moses Dawson and Tom Atkinson on hand to finish off move after move, given half a chance.

With Andy Duncan at full-back, a near full-strength side takes on their West Coast counterparts.

WIGTON A v MILLOM A

WITH no first-team game, Millom seconds travel to Wigton with a great young team at their disposal.

With their tails up after a brilliant home win against Whitehaven, the Wilson Park youngsters take to the field as the club look to develop this team into a competitive side in Cumbria League Two.

Big performances from last week’s man-of-the-match Jack Killip and Callum Loughran will keep the team on a tight footing.

The experienced Gavin Maguire is helping bring on Morgan Tyson, Josh Williams, Kyle Barns and brothers Jamie and Michael Rice.

Paul Carter and Richard Preston are playing their part in this development, as are fresh faces from the first team – Kieron Coulson, Joseph Thomlinson and Michael Kirkham – themselves only 17 and 18 years old.

AMBLESIDE v FURNESS A

(Galava Park, 2.15pm)

AMBLESIDE welcome Furness A, with the visitors chuffed to get a run-out, having not played many games recently.

The home side go on to the pitch unchanged after a solid 29-22 win at Egremont.

Mike Gibson, Pip Houghton and Paul Aire will take the battle to the opposition up front, with captain Paul Longster lining up with Jacob Taylor in the second row.

The back row will be looking for another big performance from Alfie White, Rory Seekings and Greg Machino to help scrum half Keenan Longster get good, clean ball for the back division.

The backs will be led by Matt Burrows, who will have centre partnership Ben and Steve Matthews outside him. With Tim Horsfall and Rory Townsend on the wings, there is a strong feel to the team.

Furness have Alex and Kieron Mason trying hard to get the second-string kick-started and, with the help of club man and stalwart Rhys Studt, they should get there.
