HAWCOAT Park first and second teams are looking to bounce back after suffering defeats last time out.

Park first team host St Benedicts, while elsewhere in-form Windermere entertaion Creighton, Millom and Ambleside are both on the road and Furness have no game.

Hawcoat v St Benedicts

HAWCOAT first string face a tough task when host the visit of North Lancs/Cumbria League table-toppers St Benedicts tomorrow.

The Marooon and Whites were beaten 9-0 at home by Silloth last week in a game they really should have won. Not taking opportunities is suicide in this game and as such they will be looking to put this right against Benedicts.

Jason Priss and Andy Kent are back in contention to stiffen things up in the front three, joining John Donnan, Brad Morrow and Patrick Sarmiento in taking on the big travelling pack. Expect Will Mallinson and Ash Mowatt to back them up from the engine room second row.

Mike Lightfoot and Matty Sayle have to be on their mettle and try to get quick ball away to the back line. Euan James (broken nose) is unavailable so no doubt James Howden will take the reins. Final selection not confirmed but Robert Shephard will be looking to be out wide to finish off the moves with Chris Burns inside him at centre. With Johnathan Moses possibly at full-back there is no doubt the squad will have their work cut out but know they are capable of winning on home turf.

The seconds, defeated 22-7 at Egremont last weekend will be looking to get back to winning ways against St Benedicts in this first v second battle at Hawcoat.

Benedicts put Furness to the sword 25-5 at home last week and will be hopefull of keeping their run going, something Hawcoat will want to stop.

With more and more Colts coming through from the junior section, the age of the team is coming down but teams still need experience. This is where Martin Kennedy and Adam Williamson come into play, helping bring on this talent.

Jack Shannon and Joe Rea have turned up well in the last two weeks and hopefully Jonny Hutton will join them. Rodney Odandi is available and was a big miss last week. Paul Woodburn is a massive player for the home side leading from the front along with the Sayle brothers, Rory and Lewis. Jay Crowes' mazy running will be on show and will play a big part in the game. Another tough game for the home side but one they can surely win.

Workington v Millom

MILLOM head to high flying Workington in what is expected to be a tough encounter for the travelling army as they look to put their recent run of defeats on the back burner.

Defeated last time out 13-12 by Cockermouth was a hard pill to swallow.

Tomorrow's game will be won in the forwards and Millom go west with a strong set in hand. Missing this encounter are Graig and James Wilson, due to work commitments, but back in the fold is Trevor Dixon, who fills in at centre for Chris Park, while Callum Lamont and Steve Watson in the front row will give Millom a strong start.

Stalwart Ian Cummings and James Wilson in the second row are more than a match for any team on their day. Craig Mounsey and Jordan Moyes will link up in the half back roles and will aim to get good, quick ball away to the back line with Steven Forster and Jarty Robinson the men out wide. Big day out for the Blue and Whites who will have to be on top form with to come away with the spoils.

Aspatria v Ambleside

AMBLESIDE go north to face the might of Aspatria and after no last week the visitors have a fresh legs to rely on as they hope to pull off a win.

Father and son duo, second rower Paul Longster and scrum half Keenan Longster at scrum half, take to the pitch looking to give their all for the cause.

Byron Stephenson returns adding some real steel to the team with Lewis Kelly linking up with young Longster from stand off.

Ben Roe and Stephen Matthews will be keeping their centre partnership on the front foot with Fraser Leyton running the ball in at every opportunity from full-back. It's likely Jamie McClelland, Greg Stephenson and Paul 'Herman' Aires will make up the front row which is as strong as they come on their day. Davids, Clarke and Wajowski, will possibly join Neil Maddison in the back row and hopefully Alfie White will be back up and running and on top form to take his side forward and on to victory.

Windermere v Creighton

After a last minute penalty from skipper James Crawford helped earn Windermere a superb 14-12 win at Furness last week the Lakes outfit are back at Dawes Meadow to face Creighton.

The visitors are standing bottom of the Cumbria League after Wigton's withdrawal.

With a few changes to the squad due to a stag night, Windermere will still be able to field a strong side with scrum half Dan Neild taking over the captain's armband.

Linking up with Neild is Jamie Dootson at fly-half, which is a new role for him. The back row looks immense as it sees Haynes, Powel and Myler take control of the breakdowns and loose ball.

Rory Hodgeson links up at centre with Josh Holmes as they look to take Creighton's defensive line on at every chance, getting Moses Dawson away over the whitewash with Atkinson backing up from the opposite wing.

Front row regular Dan Harrison is joined in the forwards by the returning Joe Turner.

If last week's performance was anything to go by Mere should have the win in the bag.
