HAWCOAT Park aim for their third successive home win to improve their North Lancs/Cumbria League survival hopes.

Furness face a massive game up the coast at Whitehaven, where victory will boost their Cumbria League title chances, while struggling Millom look to break their duck at Workington.

HAWCOAT PARK v TRAFFORD MV

(Hawcoat Park, 2.15pm)

THE Maroon and Whites are back at home to face Manchester side Trafford MV.

This could be a great opportunity for more much-needed points to lift them away from the relegation places.

John Donnan, Adam Grainger and Andy Kent will take the game on from up front, with the returning Ash Mowat teaming up with Ryan Milner in the second row.

Grady Slater is back from university and joins Callum Ramsey and Mike Lightfoot in a strong-looking back row.

Skipper Brad Morrow takes on the scrum half duties and links up with James Howden, who moves to his more familiar position of fly-half.

James Dallimore and Glenn Kaighan are the wide men, with Lewis Sayle moving to the centres to play alongside Chris Burns. With Blain Marwood at full-back, the team will be at near full-strength and should have a confident feel as they look to bounce back from defeat at Bolton.

WHITEHAVEN v FURNESS

FURNESS travel north for what could be the defining game of their season against high-flying Whitehaven.

Both teams need the win to continue their push for the Cumbria League title, so Furness are hoping they can replicate the form that saw them beat tomorrow’s hosts at the Strawberry Grounds earlier in the season.

Skipper Corne Els has plenty to choose from, but is concerned his squad are a little rusty following last week’s disappointing withdrawal of Carlisle Crusaders, who failed to raise a side.

The Blues’ back row is a mobile unit, with Rhys Studt reverting to his usual open-side berth.

Sam Dutton will continue at scrum half, giving Steve Neale all the room he needs to dispatch his backs. Adam Nicholson and Rhys Humphreys provide the threat in midfield and will be kept busy in defence too.

Furness are not taking this game lightly and are hoping that their recent enforced lack of game time will not prove detrimental to their title aspirations.

WORKINGTON v MILLOM

MILLOM are on the road again in the Cumbria League as they face Workington.

With last week’s heavy defeat behind them, the Wilson Park side will dig deep to try and get the victory they fully deserve. Final selection is to be confirmed, but with club captain Trevor Dixon on the field they will have firepower.

Young Robbie Pattinson at scrum half will be keen to get his backs up and at them early doors, so it will be interesting to see who takes on the number 10 shirt, with Chris Park the prime candidate.

The strong running of Jarty Robertson will be key, as will the support from the forwards with fellow young guns Keiron Coulson and Joe Thomlinson always at the breakdown to clear the path. Robust workhorses Ian Cummings, Dean Doyle and Kieran Rogan have to be on top form in the loose, hunting down the ball at the breakdown. Si Robertson, Matty Jordan and Joe Moyes, among others, are available.

LEIGH v HAWCOAT PARK A

AFTER the disappointment of last week’s 13-10 defeat against top-of-the-table Leyland, Hawcoat travel to Leigh with good numbers in their bid for the second North West Intermediate Division Four promotion spot.

Skipper Martin Kennedy will lift his troops with the help of stalwart Dave Wynne. With Ethan Vial and Chris Milby back in the squad, the strength is there for all to see.

Matt Robson will look after the back row alongside Peter Jennens and Harry Higgins. The Joes, Dalton and Rea, throw their hats into the ring, as do Ryan Brown and Mike Gibson.

Luke Shaw’s second-row presence will be invaluable along with Jay Crow and Col Wright. Liam Burns travels, as does try-scorer Adam Armstrong. Adam Williamson and Scott Garnett are also available.
