IT is cup quarter-final time at Hawcoat Park tomorrow, as a strong second team take on Tyldesley, the only side to have beaten them at home this season.

Elsewhere, Windermere and Furness lock horns in the Cumbria League Cup at Dawes Meadow, while Millom A entertain Wigton in Cumbria League Two.

Hawcoat Park A v Tyldesley A

(Hawcoat Park, 2.15pm)

HAWCOAT look to avenge a 38-5 Raging Bull League defeat at home to the Manchester side in what should be a humdinger.

After last week’s superb win at Clitheroe, the home side have their tails up and will feel confident of getting a result.

Scott Garnett will be back from injury at scrum half and will have Euan James alongside him, looking to be the link men between forwards and backs.

Skipper Martin Kennedy will lead the side from the second row and will look to partner-in-crime Matt Robson to help support the more-than-capable front three of Ryan Brown, Jordan Garnett and Paul Woodburn.

The back row will have Joe Rea and Peter Jennens at its helm, with last week’s man-of-the-match Alfie White turning out for the Maroon and Whites due to Ambleside having a free week.

Rodney Odandi returns on the wing after making his first-team debut, with last week’s two-try hero Dan Armitstead on the opposite flank.

Dave Wynne makes a return after illness in the centres and will be joined by Robert Shepherd, with Lewis Sayle playing at full-back.

Millom A v Wigton

(Wilson Park, 2,15pm)

WITH no first-team game, Millom look to get one over on a travelling Wigton side after a tightly-fought battle away against them early on in the season.

Club captain Ian Cummings takes the team forward from the front row, and will have Keiron Rogan and Steve Watson for company.

The engine-room will have young bucks Joseph Thomlinson and Keiron Coulson driving on the front three with the immense power they possess.

Young Callum Loughran goes from strength to strength and could be selected in a strong back row with the likes of Joe Laydon always on hand to break up play.

Chris Parks looks likely to get the shout at scrum half, with Si Robertson holding the stand-off reins as the rangy 17-year-old looks to utilise his skill set.

The backs see Kyle Barnes on one wing with Morgan Tyson on the other after picking up the man-of-the-match award in his last game for the seconds.

Matty Jordan and Morgan Tyson have thrown their hats into the ring and John Falconer is sure to keep play tight from full-back.

Windemere v Furness

(Dawes Meadow, 2.15pm)

IT is rearranged cup action at Dawes Meadow which sees a rejuvenated Furness side travel to Windermere.

Both teams will be trying their hardest to win this one in what could be a great game of rugby.

Captain Jamie Hardman will be looking for his Mere troops to step up their game and, with Dan Harrison alongside him and Luke Todd joining them in the front row, they start strong.

Jon Benson and former Blue Tadhg Butler are in the second row, giving the front five some good balance.

The back row will look to upset their opponents. Conor Maher, Rory Hodgson and Andy Holcroft will look disrupt every break down.

Scrum half and stand-off are in the hands of the regular half-back pairing of Dan Neild and Bertie Hodgson, and they will be looking to the forwards to give them the platform required to get on the front foot.

Moses Dawson moves back the wing, with new player Lewis Horrax on the other with the men at centre, Jamie Dootson and Sam James, on hand to release the pacey widemen.

With Andy Duncan at full-back, they are in safe hands in both defence and attack.

Furness have some selection issues, with a number of personnel missing, so there may be a few surprises.

Up front, Paul Dean keeps his shirt and is joined by Cameron McClure and Chris Dalton, who will be putting his boots on for the first time in a while.

Dan Scott and Martin Ward form a second-row partnership and will look to take on the Windermere pack at all opportunities.

Andy Brannon and Tom Brannon are at six and seven, and have Jordan Ashton at scrum half as he looks for good clean ball in an attempt to get the backs away.

Joe Mallinson adds stand-off to his rugby CV and will have fellow forward Corne Els and young Reece Humphries in the centre in what could be a strong set-up in midfield.

The explosive Ryan Cunningham is on one wing with Phil Hayward on the other.

Skipper Rhys Studt is at full-back and, if he is not brought down early, his strong running will break the line.
