FURNESS and Windermere kick off their Cumbria League campaigns on the road tomorrow.

Both sides will be looking to make a strong start to the season, while Hawcoat Park look to build on their first North Lancs/Cumbria win.

UPPER EDEN v FURNESS

FURNESS travel to Kirkby Stephen to face relegated Upper Eden in what will be a tough first run-out for the Blues.

The visitors are more than capable of taking the points.

The front three sees Leon Sweet, Ben Hughes and Cameron McLure take on Eden, with Dillan Taputu and new recruit Ryan Potgeiter in a strong second row.

Skipper Corne Els leads the back row, and is joined by Rhys Studt and Will Mallinson.

Jordan Ashton comes in at scrum half, and teams up with Adam Nicholson at fly-half.

Alex Brown and Ryan Cunningham are the wide men, with Sam Attard completing the back three.

Centre field is in the safe hands of Steve Neale and the influential Joe Mallinson.

WHITEHAVEN v WINDERMERE

THE Ambers are on the road to face another relegated team, in Whitehaven.

Captain and front-rower Jamie Hardman will be looking to fellow props Dan Harrison and Luke Todd to get up and running quickly and put Haven under pressure.

Johnny Benson and Josh Dawson are in the engine room, pushing on the front three.

The back row will be key at the breakdown, so Conor Maher, Paul Mahler and Joe Hallam will need to be on their toes.

Dave Wiggins and Bertie Hodgson at half-back will look to get Josh Wheatley and Andy Duncan in the centres up and running, with full-back Cane McMahon coming into the line.

Wingmen Chris Lightburn and Moses Dawson will want to see plenty of ball. A strong bench has Mike Ward, Liam McKinnon and Brad Askam keeping it warm.

FLEETWOOD v HAWCOAT PARK

AFTER a superb home win against Eccles, Hawcoat travel to Fleetwood.

There are only a couple of changes, with John Donnan, Adam Grainger and Andy Kent taking on the opposing front three.

Ash Mowat continues in the second row with Callum Ramsey, with Alfie White returning from holiday to get a starting shirt for his new club.

White plays alongside skipper Bradley Morrow and Jason Priss in what looks a dynamic back row.

Johnny Burrows continues at scrum-half, with James Howden at fly-half.

There is a change in the centres, with Lewis Sayle teaming up with the ever-present Chris Burns. The pair are looking to feed wide men Rodney Odondi and Will Coles.

HAWCOAT PARK A v ROCHDALE

IT was unlucky defeat at Bury last week for Hawcoat A, who will be looking to take the points and get back to the top of North West Intermediate Division Four North.

Once again, a massive squad is available at home, something they need to replicate away if aspirations are to be realised.

Jay Crowe returns from first-team duties, while Dave Wynne will lead the backs, with exciting Euan James making the ball available to the likes of Matt Bettney, Matt Burrows, Connor McDermott, Connor Doherty and Dan Hayes.

Last year’s Colts are starting to come through, with Joe Dalton making his bow.

Scott Garnett and Adam Williamson will want the scrum-half shirt, and there will be an arm-wrestle among the forwards, with Rory Sayle, Mark Hall, Ted Jackson, Ethan Vial, Jackson Glynn and Luke Shaw wanting a place in the engine room.

Peter Jennens and Matt Robson will lead the back row, with Charlie Butterworth and Conor Vetes Young looking to join then.

Ryan Brown and Mike Gibson look to start at prop.
