MOMENTUM is key for Furness and Hawcoat Park this weekend as they look to build on important wins.

Millom come off a blank weekend to face the Cumbria League leaders, with Ambleside another team hoping to continue good form.

FURNESS v ST BENEDICTS

(Strawberry Grounds, 1.30pm)

FRESH from their maiden win of the season against Egremont, the Blues are looking for more points as they bid to climb the Cumbria League table.

There are changes afoot for the visit of St Benedicts, with Rob Prescott returning to the front row, joined by Paul Dean and Ben Hughes.

Aaron Pike and Alex Mason miss out, so James Tyson continues his development in the second row.

The back row looks strong, with Joe Mallinson, Rhys Studt and coach Dillon Tapatu putting their shoulders in for the pursuit of ball for the half-backs.

Jordan and Marc Ashton continue their battle for the number nine shirt and the chance to link up with stand-off Steve Perry.

Sam Attard will hold his own at centre, with Ryan Cunningham outside him putting the chances away.

Another returnee is Matthew Studt, who will make a huge difference to the side.

With Dan Scott and Keiron Mason throwing their hat in the ring, Furness go strong.

EGREMONT A v AMBLESIDE

AMBLESIDE travel to Egremont looking to cement their place in Cumbria League Two.

Keenan Longster and Matt Burrow are the main men linking between forwards and back, and they will be looking to get clean ball from thepack, led by skipper Paul Longster.

The front three of Paul Aires, Pip Houghton and Mike Gibson are more than a handful and, with Pip Houghton, Alfie White and Greg Machino in the back row, the pack has some real steel about it.

Outside Burrow, Ben and Steve Matthews will be on hand to help break down the Egremont defence to give space to wing men Tim Horsefall and Rory Townsend.

The only change to the squad sees the inclusion of big Jacob Taylor.

COCKERMOUTH v MILLOM

MILLOM travel to top-of-the-league Cockermouth after a week’s break and looking to cause an upset.

They will be looking to cut out mistakes and develop their young players, who are a massively important to the club in the Cumbria League this season.

Two such young guns are Joseph Tomlinson and Kieron Coulson, who are growing stronger with every game.

In the front row, Millom have nothing but power, with captain Ian Cummings returning at prop, Dean Doyle at hooker and Steven Watson making up an experienced and weighty front three.

The back row sees Joe Fisher make his first start after an impressive substitute appearance last time out. He is joined by workhorse Matthew Jordon and James Wilson at eight.

Robbie Pattinson has been a brilliant addition this season and holds on to his number nine shirt. He will be looking at linking play with Chris Park at 10.

Ryan Carter and Craig Mounsey give strength in the centres, with the pace of Jordan Moyes and Douglas Jardine out wide more than capable of finishing off any moves.

John Falconer will be reliable and safe in the full-back position, using his lightning pace to get out of any trouble.

MILLOM A v WHITEHAVEN

(Wilson Park, 2.15pm)

A MIXTURE of old heads and youth come together for Millom A as they are out to beat visiting Whitehaven.

Mike Kirkham, Callum Loughran and Stephen Forster will be looking to carry on their strong season.

The Ryce brothers, Jamie and Michael, could make the difference with their resilient game play.

HAWCOAT PARK v UPPER EDEN

(Hawcoat Park, 2.15pm)

PARK produced some of the best game play seen at the club in a long time as they beat North Lancs/Cumbria leaders Fleetwwod last week. They will be looking for more of the same tomorrow.

Dan White will lead the side from the second row, partnering Ash Mowat in a formidable duo.

Jason Priss is a fitness doubt, so John Donnan may ake his shirt, with Ryan Milner also in the front three.

George Smith has been a valuable addition, and the former Furness full-back will keep his place in the squad.

The wide men have been devastating, so Elliot McDermott and Will Coles will be looking to start, with the likes of Chris Burns inside them.

Will Mallinson, Mike Lightfoot and Jonny Burrows have had a great season, and they will be needed to snaffle up loose balls.

With James Howden at 10, and the likes of Blain Marwood, Callum Ramsey, Matty Sayle and Jack Sutherland all available, selection for the final places is going to be interesting.

SEDGLEY PARK v HAWCOAT PARK A

HAWCOAT'S second string are on the road to Manchester after a superb home win against Leigh which leaves them two points off second with games in hand in the Raging Bull League.

The squad will be looking to continue their superb start, with Dave Wynne controlling proceeding from the back line, with the exciting Rob Shephard alongside him. With wing men Rodney Odondi and Dan Armitstead, anything is possible.

Big Paul Woodburn returns from Japan to lead the pack, with Ryan Brown and Jordan Garnett joining him in the front row.

The return of Luke Shaw last week was a bonus, and will help Joe Rea at wing forward in his pursuit of the ball.

Jake Vial continues with his direct tackling and strong running, which will be a big help to Adam Williamson and Sam Hilton.

Joe Ward's play has come on immensely and will be a big bonus for the side this week.
