FURNESS, Millom and Hawcoat Park are all seeking much-needed wins this weekend.

While Furness chase promotion and Park seek to climb away from relegation, Millom are desperate for a first victory of the campaign when they host Carlisle Crusaders.

FURNESS v EGREMONT

(Strawberry Grounds, 2.15pm)

FURNESS are hoping the weather gives the Strawberry Grounds a break from the relentless rain to allow Egremont to visit tomorrow.

Along with most of the sporting grounds in the area across all sports, the Blues' home has suffered under the torrential downpours over the past few weeks.

Skipper Corne Els is sidelined for the Cumbria League encounter with a knee injury sustained at Whitehaven in their last outing, and Joe Mallinson is doubtful with a damaged hand.

Furness are hoping Cam McClure can get time off work to fill a gap in the front row following an impressive all-round performance last time out.

Will Mallinson will continue to graft in the second row despite carrying a shoulder injury that is proving difficult to shake off.

Sam Dutton and Steve Neale are working well at half-back and give the backs plenty of options.

Adam Nicholson's absence in the centres will be missed, an injury sustained to his ankle at Whitehaven in the mud proving too hard to overcome.

There are several options in the backs, but the weather may dictate the Blues line-up for what promises to be a tough encounter between two sides bound to be game rusty after the recent postponements.

MILLOM v CARLISLE CRUSADERS

(Wilson Park, 2.15pm)

MILLOM are having a difficult year in the Cumbria League, and it has been a struggle to field the strongest team week in, week out.

New coach Adam Redhead has had to deal with injuries and work commitments, with absences as a result the common theme of the season.

This week, Millom see the home fixture against Carlisle Crusaders as a great opportunity to get the win that their performances deserve.

With only Steven Watson out injured and Peter Moore unavailable, the coach is able to field a strong side, one which could break Millom's duck at long last.

The Blue and Whites are coming off the back of three tough away games, with the highlight of those trips being the move of Steven Rodgers from centre into flanker, which has given the forwards an extra threat in the middle of field.

Millom squad: Kieron Rogan, Dean Doyle, Ian Cummings, Kieron Coulson, Joseph Tomlinson, Matthew Jordan, Steven Rodgers, Trevor Dixon, Robbie Pattinson, Joe Moyes, Sy Robinson, Chris Park, Andrew Mellen, Jarty Robinson, Jordon Moyes. Substitutes: Callum Loughran, Ryan Carter, Kyle Barnes.

ASPATRIA v HAWCOAT PARK

IT promises to be a tough day out tomorrow in North Lancs/Cumbria for Hawcoat Park.

The Maroon and Whites travel north to face leaders Aspatria.

Last week saw Hawcoat travel to Littleborough, only for the game to be called off on their arrival due to a waterlogged pitch, something the travelling team were not happy about.

With the scheduled A-team fixture at home tomorrow cancelled due to a burst water main on the drive up to the club, the first team can call on the A-team to help with numbers as key players are still missing.

Up front, Paul Woodburn, Adam Grainger and Andy Kent will be looking to contain the home team pack, pushed on by John Donnan and Matthew Robson in the second row.

A young back row will need to be on song, so Joe Rea, Harry Higgins and Alfie White will look to make a nuisance of themselves in the loose.

Chris Burns could move to stand-off and link up with Johnny Burrow in the half-back roles, where good ball from the forwards will be key.

Pacey forward Callum Ramsey looks to move to the back line, with James Dalimore, Rodney Odondi and Dan Hayes all on hand to help out where required.

With Col Wright, Rory Sayle, Sam Jones and Adam Armstong also available, final selection will be interesting.
