LIAM Harrison is set to make a playing comeback tomorrow in the 15-man code of rugby when Hawcoat Park take on Wigton in the North Lancs/Cumbria League.

Harrison, who retired from playing rugby league after a long career with Barrow Raiders at the end of last season and previously played union for Hawcoat, has been named in the squad for the Maroon and Whites' clash with the side above them only on points difference in the standings. It is a big day for Hawcoat in their return to action after the Christmas break, with the second team at home as well as they welcome Bolton's third-string.

The day's Cumbria League One action sees Windermere head to leaders Cockermouth and Furness on the road at Keswick, while Ambleside are at home to Workingon Steelers in Cumbria League Two.

HAWCOAT PARK v WIGTON

(Hawcoat Park Sports Club, 2.15pm)

TOMORROW sees both the first and second teams at home for Hawcoat Park, with the first-team entertaining Wigton and the seconds taking on Bolton. Wigton will be a tough test, but Hawcoat are on fire at the moment and go strong again.

Up front, Andy Kent, Adam Grainger and John Donnan take control, with the big second row combination of Ash Mowat and Dan White one the best around. With Will Mallinson, Mike Lightfoot and Callum Ramsey in the back row, the pack should be ever-dominant.

Johnny Burrows links up with George Smith, where nine and 10 sees a growing partnership. Chris Burns moves to the wing with Glenn Kaigan on the other. Centre-field sees Matt Sayle and Grady Slater team up, allowing full-back Elliot McDermott to attack.

Ryan Milner, Jason Priss and former Barrow Raiders captain Liam Harrison make up a strong squad which is more than capable of taking the points.

The seconds are flying high in the Raging Bull leagues and should be too good for Bolton. The team sees the return of Martin Kennedy from illness and he will no doubt link up with 17-year-old Charlie Butterworth in the second row.

In front of them will be a combination of Paul Woodburn, Ryan Brown, Joe Rea and Jordan Garnett with Rea probably moving to flanker. Peter Jennens, Matty Robson and Harrison O'Brien will make up the rest of pack.

Adam Williamson, at scrum-half, will look to get the backs away, with Jonny Moses also making his return. Jay Crowe and Dave Wynne are a handful on their day, along with Dan Hayes and Robert Shepherd.

Into the squad come Connor McDermott and Josh Archer with former Colt Eric Hill also throwing his hat into the ring. Joe Ward will be on hand with his style of play, making a strong team for a match where a win could taking them second in the league.

COCKERMOUTH v WINDERMERE

THE Ambers look to topple the top team in Cumbria League One tomorrow when they head to Cockermouth and skipper Jamie Hardman leads from the front, firmly backed up by Dan Harrison and Luke Todd in a strong front three.

Johnny Benson has partner-in-crime Tadhg Butler back by his side in a show of strength from the second row. The back row will look to disrupt the opposition and with Conor Maher, Joe Hallam and Jon Sheasby playing there, they have every chance of doing just that.

The men in control, Dan Nield and Bertie Hodgson, will be looking for clean ball to get Jamie Dootson and Moses Dawson so they can attack at every opportunity.

Wide men Tom Atkinson and Liam Garnett will need plenty of ball to take the points on offer and will have Andy Duncan, at full-back, backing them up all the way. The bench has Paul Mahler, Lewis Horrax and Ronnie Mugridge ready to come on in what looks a strong team.

KESWICK v FURNESS

THE Blues of Furness travel to second-placed Keswick with a strong squad, and although final selection is not yet complete, the team will no doubt have some of the usual stalwarts in it.

Skipper Rhys Studt will lead by example, possibly from the back row, with the strong-running Joe Mallinson never far from the action. Young Jordan Ashton will be looking to keep his scrum-half shirt and is likely to be linking up with Adam Jackson at fly-half.

The front three will see Paul Dean, Ben Hughes and Leon Sweet looking to control the set piece, with Corne Els looking to disrupt and take on the Keswick team, as only he can. Fellow forwards Mark Hall and Alex Mason will also be looking to get a start along big Martin Ward.

After the New Year's Day game, the Humphrey brothers of Rhys and Iestyn will look to link up with Steve Perry in the backs along with Alex Brown.

Late selection may also see Sam Attard, Tez Nueto, Mike Backhouse and Johnny Sloan get the nod, but whoever makes up the final selection will ensure Keswick will be in for a tough afternoon at Davidson Park.

AMBLESIDE v WORKINGTON STEELERS

(Galava Park, 2.15pm)

AMBLESIDE are on home soil against Workington in a game they hope goes ahead having been let down a lot by a number of travelling teams in the first have of the season.

Talisman Alfie White is missing for the hosts, but in Mick Gibson they have a great replacement. Jacob Taylor is likely to team up alongside skipper Paul Longster in the engine room, with Pip Houghton and Gregg Stevenson in the row in front.

Joining Gibson in the second row are Andrew Clayton and Greg Machino, looking to disrupt the opposition in the contest for the ball.

Keenan Longster is at scrum-half and plays with Peter Holgate at fly-half. In the centre, Steven Matthews and Matt Middlemiss are running the show and will be looking to get wingmen Tim Horsfall and Rory Townsend away. Lewis Kelly brings up the rear at full-back in a team which should be too strong for their opponents.
