Dalton v Sharlston A

Kelland Park 2pm

DALTON resume their Pennine League Division One campaign following last week’s 50-4 Presidents Cup defeat at Premier League opposition Morley Borough, writes Paddy McAteer.

The Kelland Park side will be looking for a similar performance to that on day one in the league when they comprehensively defeated St Joseph’s.

They could only raise 13 players for last weekend’s trip with 16 year olds Ash Allonby, Matt Bamber and Ioan Hayes taking to the field.

However there will be no selection problems tomorrow with the availability of Joe Watson, Gary Bolton, Daniel Laisby, Jack Flynn, Joe Cargan, Harri Brown, Alistair McEwan, Joe Braund Smith and former Hawcoat Park player Ryan Miller who all missed the trip into Yorkshire.

Doubtful are Tom Wilkinson and Chris Reid who have leg injuries while Ross Clayton has work commitments.

One plus came out of last week’s game with Stu Tippett coming through unscathed after missing most of last season with a broken leg.

Club spokesman Owen Richards said: “It was good news that Stu (Tippett) showed no ill effects after the game, he has been out a long time and it is good to see him back.

“It should be a tough game with Sharlston who last week beat fellow division one side Lindleys Swift 6216.”
