A SOUTH Cumbria RL trio are a step closer to representing England after being named in national squads.

Former Dowdales School pupils Brad Walker and Liam Paisley have been selected for the England Academy set-up, while Millom School’s Tyler Lancaster is in the England Youth ranks.

Both Walker and Paisley were part of the Dowdales team which won three National School crowns over their five years of action.

Both have since been signed up by Super League clubs on professional deals, with Askam’s Walker at Widnes Vikings and Dalton’s Paisley at Wigan Warriors.

England Academy will face France in May before a month-long tour of Australia in July, with the final squad trimmed for that trip.

Lancaster plays his club rugby at Kells and is part of the youth set-up at Warrington Wolves.

The England Youth squad will face France in Perpignan in March.
