HINDPOOL Tigers and Walney Central square off tonight for the right to face Askam in the CJS Cars KO Cup final.

The second semi-final sees two sides buoyed by their first-round victories going head-to-head at Brisbane Park (7pm kick-off).

Hindpool went to Barrow Island as underdogs, but came away with a 38-30 victory – a great win for the Tigers as they have propped up the league all season. Walney, meanwhile, had too much for a young Ulverston side at Central Drive, running out 38-16 winners.

Brad Rowan (2), Shannon Robinson, Scott Douglas, Ryan Smith, Craig Regan and Lee Boyde crossed the whitewash in Hindpool’s triumph, while Grant Burns landed five goals.

Lewis Sayle (2), Lee Edwards, Mike Pearce and Lee Dutton scored Barrow Island’s tries, with Aaron Palmer kicking five goals.

Ulverston found the going tough at Walney, who welcomed back several experienced players as they cruised to the victory.

Mike Backhouse and Adam Nicholson were both on the scoresheet, with Corrie McAllister (2), Jake Deveraux (2) and Dave Nicholson the other try-scorers. Nicholson also kicked five goals.

For Ulverston, who gave a good account of themselves, Dave John, Tyler Williamson and Matty Miller went over the line, with Liam Winfeild landing two goals.

In the first semi-final, a tight game game saw Askam take the spoils against Dalton with a 16-8 victory. Askam reached the final with tries from Grady Slater, Ross Tippett and Josh Steel. Jack Cairns and Brad Jackson kicked a goal apiece.

For Dalton, Jack Gordon and Ross Coulson crossed the whitewash.
