ASKAM attempt to complete a Barrow and District treble as they take on Hindpool in the CJS Cars KO Cup final at Craven Park tonight.

Already the league champions and Harry Warman Cup winners, they face a Tigers side who were bottom of the league all season but who have come good in the.

Hindpool have have had two great wins over Barrow Island and Walney Central to reach the final and coach Matt Preston is quietly confident.

He said: “If we don't get sucked into a forwards battle and move the ball out wide, we could cause Askam a few problems.”

Preston has been able to field the same side for the last few weeks, with Grant Burns, Lee Boyde and Craig Regan the cornerstone of the team, and Brad Rowan and Connor McDermott scoring plenty of points.

Preston's counterpart at Askam, Dave Hellon, is well aware of the Hindpool threat.

“We can't afford to take them lightly after their two great wins of late,” he said. “But if our forwards are on form, then we should be okay.”

Brad Jackson and young Jack Cairns have hit form recently for the Villagers and Hellon sees these two as potential match winners.
