HAWCOAT Park look for back-to-back victories over Littleborough in their quest to beat the drop, while Windermere and Furness lock horns in a South Cumbrian derby.

Windermere v Furness (3pm kick-off)

WINDERMERE and Furness lock horns at Dawes Meadow in a re-arranged Cumbria League fixture.

The Ambers will be looking to go strong after last week's disappointing performance at home to a rejuvenated Millom, with skipper Jamie Hartman looking for better things from his troops.

Good link-up play between forwards and back is important, so the partnership of Bertie Hodgson and Dave Wiggins will be key.

Another important area will be at the breakdown and Johnny Benson, Josh Dawson and Olly Askew will be looking to secure good ball for their team-mates.

The full-back position is to be decided, and with Andy Duncan and James Crawford both capable of taking control, selection will be interesting.

There’s no doubt club stalwart Dan Harrison will play a key role, but they must improve as a team on last week's crushing 66-17 defeat if they are going to break down the Blue wall.

For their part Furness have decided to reward the players who made the long trip to Silloth last weekend and were narrowly defeated 22-15.

As expected, holidays and other Easter commitments have impacted on selection, but the return of South African powerhouse Dries Venter in the front row is not a bad starting point.

Venter joins Ben Hughes in a dynamic front three as the reliable hooker looks to further improve his game.

Last week's man of the match Joe Mallinson partners up with the elusive Andy Brannon in the back row for what could be a key battle.

Injury to Sam Dutton makes the lively scrum half a doubt, but the rest of the back division looks lively, with the versatile Rhys Studt possibly dropping to full-back to continue his try-scoring feats this season.

Littleborough v Hawcoat Park

IT'S another massive relegation battle for Hawcoat as they look to inflict a quickfire double over the Rochdale side.

This could be a season-defining game for the Maroon and Whites as they bid to follow up last weekend's 31-19 home victory over the team one place below them in the North Lancs/Cumbria League.

Props Ryan Brown and John Donnan will be joined by the returning Dan White and Grady Slater in the engine room.

Matt Robson takes the wing forward shirt, although his experience in the front row may see him move up front.

Joining Robson is the returning Michael Lightfoot and Alfie White, who both missed last week's victory.

James Howden and George Smith are pivotal at fly-half and scrum half as they look to get ball away from forwards to backs.

Wingmen Scott Garnett and Rob Shepherd look to finish off the moves with centres Chris Burns and - fingers crossed - Josh Vial supplying the ammunition.

Blain Marwood’s return at full-back is a big fillip for the side and will give them further fire-power. With a strong bench containing Lewis Sayle and Dan Lightfoot, Park will be conficfent of back-to-back victories.
