BIG homes games await Furness and Hawcoat Park tomorrow, as they enter the home straight of their respective seasons.

Furness look to inflict a Cumbria League double over Workington, while Hawcoat’s North Lancs/Cumbria League relegation fight continues against Tarleton.

FURNESS v WORKINGTON

(Strawberry Grounds, 3pm)

FURNESS host Workington in good spirits following last week’s comprehensive 52-0 victory over Windermere.

Team news sees South African talisman Cornes Els gratefully retreat from the front row to his more familiar back row to partner Rhys Studt and Andy Brannon.

Leon Sweet will combine with Ben Hughes and Dries Venter in a solid and formidable front row.

Dillan Taputu adds his bulk to bolster the pack in the second row, but an ongoing injury to Sam Dutton means Craig McKinnon continues at scrum half, with reliable old head Steve Neale at stand-off.

Adam Nicholson looks to follow up his man-of-the-match performance last week in the centres, with the pacey James Armitstead outside him on the wing.

The return of Lee Starkey at full-back will add an extra dimension to the Furness attack in what looks like a good all-round squad.

Furness took the spoils at Workington in December, so will be looking to make it a double over the Zebras in what should be an entertaining encounter at the Strawberry Grounds.

HAWCOAT PARK v TARLETON

(Hawcoat Park, 3pm)

HAWCOAT Park are on home turf as they look to boost their North Lancs/Cumbria League survival hopes with victory over Tarleton.

Defeat away to Littleborough away keeps the Maroon and Whites fearful of relegation.

But with last week’s announcement that only two teams will go down at the end of the campaign, it is in their own hands to stay up, as they lie third-bottom.

Ryan Milner returns to bolster the front three, joining regulars Ryan Brown and Adam Grainger. Another returnee is influential second-rower Ash Mowat, who will sit next to Grady Slater in the engine room.

The second row has captain Brad Morrow back in the fold, with Callum Ramsey and Alfie White in a dynamic trio.

Scott Garnett sits back in his more familiar role of scrum half and links up with last weekend’s stand-in skipper George Smith.

Wide men Joe Dalton and Rob Shephard will need plenty of space to get over the whitewash, and will look to Chris Burns and hopefully George Hilton to create opportunities for them.

With Lewis Sayle staking his claim for the full-back jersey and a strong bench, Hawcoat could do with taking the points.
