DAN Stewart returns to the Isle of Man for his 13th time competing in the annual TT Races next week, after missing last year’s event.

A leg injury suffered in testing at Croft saw Bridgegate Motorcycles mechanic unable to make the trip in 2016, but he is back to contest four categories on his new machinery.

Stewart’s latest tilt at the TT comes on the back of his first time competing in the North West 200 for 10 years, where he took part in the superstock and superbike races.

The 41-year-old will be in action in both of those categories around the 37-mile Mountain Circuit, along with the main event of the week, the Senior TT.

Those will all be contested on his new BMW S1000RR bike, while he will also be contesting the supersport class on board a Honda CBR 600RR.

Meanwhile, Flookburgh’s Bill Butler, Ulverston’s Nick Penny, and Barrow riders Mike Walker and Les Trotter are all contesting the Pre TT Classic Road Races on the famous Castletown circuit on Monday.
