WALNEY Central Under-16s are prepared to give it their all as they look for cup final success this weekend.

Cents play Thatto Heath in the North West Counties Plate Final at Clock Face Miners’ St Helens home.

Cents reached the final by beating Pilkington Recs and Clock Face Miners.

They will be out for revenge against a Thatto Heath side who beat them earlier on in the season, and coaches Stuart Dancer and Neal Henderson, who have both been coaching the team since under-sevens level, believe their team can do it.

The squad who will make the trip south is as follows.

MARK ANDERTON

(Full-back)

HAS a very quick turn of pace which allows him to be able to brush past tacklers with ease.

SAM KAY

(Winger)

A PLAYER who just keeps improving and improving. Will always give 100 per cent effort on the pitch.

FINN GOODINGS

(Centre)

A NEW addition to the squad but someone who is a naturally strong defender and attacker.

JACK McKECHNIE

(Centre)

HAS plenty of pace, which allows him to score long-range tries.

JOSH WARRENER

(Winger)

ANOTHER new addition who has the never-say-die spirit. Definitely one for the future.

LUCAS ORSZULKAR

(Winger)

HAS a great set of hands and is also a textbook tackler.

EWAN MAWHINNEY

(Scrum half)

POWERFUL, aggressive and crafty, and is someone who punches above his size in defence.

LUKE BROADBENT

(Scrum half/full-back)

PLAYS for Warrington Academy, and rugby runs through his blood. He tackles hard and hands-off even harder.

RYAN WILSON

(Stand-off/scrum half)

MOVED into the half-backs from centre. A very hard tackler and potential match-winner.

FEAR BUABAAN

(Prop)

BIG, strong, hard-driving runner who will never shy away.

MATTY HENDERSON

(Hooker)

THE team’s consistently top-tackler and always looks to run the ball in hard.

HAYDEN CARR

(Prop)

A SOLID tackling, athletic prop, and has played since under-sevens.

JACK STEVENS

(Second row/centre)

A GOOD all-round player, who is versatile and also takes the team forward.

NATHAN FORTEY

(Second row, Captain)

HAS played since under-sevens. The heartbeat of the team, tackles, works and commands. Never takes a backward step, a true warrior.

HAYDEN POOLE

(Second row)

HARD as nails, aggressive and deceptively strong for his size.

RIO CORKILL

(Loose forward)

ST Helens Academy player. Has it all – speed, strength and agility. A right handful for the opposition, has a bright future in the game.

SEB NIELSEN

(Winger)

GREAT addition to the squad, steadily improving, with a great turn of speed.

JACKSON SALEH JOHN

(Second row/winger)

BIG, strong lad, who loves it when the going gets tough.

ROBBIE BROWN

(Prop)

OUT-AND-OUT prop, who loves to take the ball in and keeps things simple.

MATTY AUSTIN

(Winger)

TRAINS as he plays, with determination and passion for his team-mates.

ARNIE LUXON

(Second row/centre)

PUNCHES above his weight and is a very versatile player who can play in most positions on a rugby pitch.
