BUDDING boxers have the chance to rub shoulders with some real-life heroes of the ring at Barrow ABC.

World heavyweight title contender Hughie Fury and other professionals are heading to the Brook Street gym next Saturday to meet junior and senior members.

Team Fury have been based in the Lake District for the past few weeks working hard in preparation for Hughie’s WBO World Heavyweight showdown with Joseph Parker.

As part of his preparations, Hughie and other pros from the Team Fury stable have been holding regular sparring sessions with Barrow ABC boxers.

The sparring sessions came about through Kendal-based international referee Alvin Finch’s connections with both camps, and they have been a big success.

Team Fury have bonded with club fighters and coaches, and are paying a special visit to Brook Street next Saturday so that members can meet them, see them in action, and also get tickets for the Fury versus Parker fight at Manchester Arena on September 23.

Barrow ABC products Liam Conroy – who fights for the English light heavyweight title next month – and Ross Cooksey will also be present.
