TEENAGE footballing sensation Curtis Anderson has been racking up the awards on the back of his England Under-17s World Cup triumph.

The Ulverston 17-year-old won the Junior Personality of the Year prize at the recent Cumbria Sports Awards. With Curtis in action for Manchester City against arch rivals Manchester United the following day, it was dad Terry who made the trip to the prize-giving at The Low Wood, Ambleside to collect the coveted award.

Earlier that day Terry had also been on duty to collect the Mail’s Sports Performance of the Month prize for October on behalf of Curtis, following his World Cup heroics in India.

Curtis was an ever-present during England’s glorious campaign in India.

The former Crooklands Casuals junior was the star of the penalty shootout win against Japan in the last-16, saving one and scoring one, and pulled off some important saves as the Young Lions thrashed Spain 5-2 in the final.

And to round off a memorable couple of days for Curtis and his family, he was part of the table-topping City under-18s Premier League team who thrashed United 4-1.
