A STRONG field is expected for tomorrow’s Glaxo Hoad Hill Harriers Summer 10k.

Runners from across the North West are set to descend on the flat, fast course and stretch their legs on the coastal route.

Entrants will set off from Glaxo Sports Club on North Lonsdale Road and race up to the Manjushri Priory, along the Coast Road and back.

The times to beat for those tackling the course are the records of 30.31, set by Olympic athlete Andi Jones, of Salford AC, and 35.12, set by Louise Gardner, of Lancaster and Morecambe AC.

Runners can enter on the night from 6pm at £8 for England Athletics affiliated runners and £10 for non-affiliated runners, with the 10k race starting at 7.30pm.

There are prizes from Coniston Outdoors to be won for the top five finishers in both the men’s and women’s races and vet prizes up to V75, along with spot prizes and medals for all finishers.

There is also a one-mile fun run, starting at 7pm with an entry of £2. Any entrants under eight must be accompanied by a legal guardian, with prizes for the first three boys and girls and a medal for all finishers.
