IT was a real family affair when Hoad Hill Harriers held their annual one-mile fun run.

Held as a curtain-raiser to club’s ever-popular Summer 10k, the event saw 65 young athletes tackle the course at Glaxo Sports Club.

And it was the Corbishley brothers – James and Justin – who dominated the race in the red and white colours of the host club.

James was first to cross the finishing line, in a super-quick time of five minutes and 36 seconds, while sibling Justin was runner-up in 6:05.

Warren Fleming claimed third place in 6:16, with Hoad Hill’s Zachary Davies fourth in 6:24 as runners enjoyed warm sunny conditions with a slight breeze.

The Barrow And Furness Striders, Walney Windcheetahs and Black Combe Runners clubs were also represented, with the leading Striders finisher being Jamie Leigh Tyson, first girl home in a time of 6:24.
