SEAN Miles will aim to dethrone reigning Evening Mail Darts champion Steve Callister when the two meet in the Dalton area finals on Saturday, February 11.

Callister was the man who triumphed in the tournament the last time it was held in 2010 and has been drawn to face former runner-up Miles in the second match of the night.

The first game sees former team-mates Kev Beaumont and Steve Woodburn taking each other on, while another former grand finalist Gary Ryce is up against Ryan Steel.

The only female player left in the competition, Karen Kirby, takes on Chris Pickthall in the other area finals clash at Dalton Cricket Club.

Event organiser Chris Irvine has also reminded players they must be at the venue for 7.15pm, with the first match starting at 7.45pm,, or face being removed from the draw.

In the Barrow area competition, tournament favourite James Kempster had to come from one leg down to beat Jason Williams 3-1.

Sean Connolly was left to rue missed darts at doubles to win the match as he was edged out 3-2 by Paul Harris, but Kev Hubbold showed great form to overcome Jordan Lowe 3-0 with some big scoring.

Simon Whiteside maintained his consistent form as well to defeat Tony Robinson 3-0. The draw for the Barrow area finals, on February 18, is due to be released in the coming days.
