DARTS stars Michael van Gerwen and Vincent van der Voort thrilled fans with a demonstration of their prowess on the oche when they came to Barrow for an exhibition last night.

The Dutch duo, who will both be involved in this year's upcoming PDC William Hill World Darts Championship, were in action at Hawcoat Park Sports Club.

They both took on eight members of the audience in single-leg matches, followed by a doubles contest and then a shoot-out against each other, entertaining the raucous crowd with an array of trick-shots and good-natured banter.

There was also the chance for fans to meet both world number one Van Gerwen and Van der Voort for photographs and to get merchandise signed.

Van Gerwen goes in search of his second World Championship from Saturday, December 17 at the Alexandra Palace when he faces the winner of the preliminary round clash between Ross Snook and Kim Viljanen.

Meanwhile, Van der Voort begins his campaign the following Thursday when he plays up-and-coming German player Max Hopp in the first round.
