THE fifth round of the Grand Prix darts competition will be held at the Red River club this Saturday.

Players are asked to attend by noon for a 12.30pm start and all players are welcome.

John Ainsworth took the winner’s ten points in the last round, launching himself straight in at eighth spot in the top 16 players.

Ainsworth beat Jordan Priss, Sean Miles and Phil Myers in some very close matches to reach the final.

In the final Ryan Steel fought well but couldn’t keep up with Ainsworth as he finished with a 144 knock-up winning 3-2.

The open singles was won by Sean Miles who beat Dave Eccles in the final. In the blind pairs final young duo Andy Watts and Daniel Thompson beat Dave Eccles and Nat Hardy.
